About this piece

2019 – Eilean Donan – Scotland, UK

At the point where Loch Alsh and Loch Duich converge stands Eilean Donan Castle. Originally built in the 13th century to ward off Viking raiders, it was bombarded by the British Navy in 1719 as part of suspresion of the Jacobite uprising.  With its three arched stone bridge that spans the causeway it has been the backdrop to many a historic film.
