2016 / 2020 – Whitstable – UK
“Before I was born my mother was in great agony of spirit and in a tragic situation. She could take no food except iced oysters and champagne. If people ask me when I began to dance, I reply ‘In my mother’s womb, probably as a result of the oysters and Champagne”.
1st May 2020 I returned back to the same spot where in July 2016 I photographed the Social Interaction and colourful vibrancy of Whitstable Harbour, the buzz of people coming together, eating and enjoying themselves at the annual Oyster Festival. Today deep into the Coronavirus Lockdown and with Social Distancing there’s not an Oyster or glass of Champagne in sight, just the agony of spirit in this tragic situation.
During lockdown I have been living in Whitstable; photographs taken have been during my local daily exercise walk with two cameras strapped over shoulders looking to capture a moment from these strange times. This photograph is part of the Covid19 Lockdown Collection, see the others images that make up this interesting documentary collection.
This image is one from a number of pieces of photographic art that makes up our Covid19 Collection. Also available as Premium Prints and Limited Edition Prints (framed or unframed).
