5.00 am on a cold February morning, that was my grand plan to go and photograph Oare Creek. Located to the east of Faversham the creek runs out to the Swale Estuary surrounded by its Dickensian marshland. When I arrived at my elevated spot on a lane overlooking a shallow valley it was still pitch black. Eventually my eyes become accustom to the darkness and I began to make out a blanket of mist hanging over the frost covered fields. I had “Great Expectations”, as the first light of dawn slowly crept into the sky and began to softly illuminate the scene before me. Just waiting for that in-between moment from night into day.
This Limited Special Edition is printed on “William Turner” textured watercolour fine art paper by Hahnemühle. This enhances the watercolour nature of the photograph creating a beautiful collector print that people may ask “is it a painting or a photograph”? This image is one from a number of pieces of photographic art that makes up our Turner Watercolour Collection.
